About Nafisa Shams Leadership Message

Managing Director Message

Nafisa Shams was launched in 2006 when Eng. Mohammed Abdullatif Jameel came with the idea of forming an organization dedicated to supporting women and girls in honor of his late mother's memory, embodying his passion for the field of traditional crafts and the local culture. The initiative has since received attention and acclaim, as part of the wide support provided by Community Jameel Saudi to achieve its vision of empowering the Saudi society.

Since the beginning, Nafisa Shams has sought to empower women in all fields, making them active members in their communities, arming them with the necessary skills and professional capabilities. In this regard, Nafisa Shams was able to provide low-income women with rewarding opportunities to upskill their craftmanship. Today, they have become a shining example in overcoming obstacles and leaving a positive impact on the community.

The establishment of Nafisa Shams comes in line with our belief in the importance of empowering Saudi women in accordance with Vision 2030, which aims to increase the participation of women in the labor market to exceed 30%, harmonize educational outputs and the market needs, and reduce unemployment levels to less than 7%. Our activities focus on providing them with a nurturing and stimulating environment for creativity, one that is well-equipped and led by trainers experienced in their fields.

Therefore, I invite all women and girls who driven by ambition and passion to achieve higher goals to join us at Nafisa Shams, a haven for those wishing to develop their skills, raise their quality of life, and make a tangible change for their families and communities. We are grateful to all 17,000 beneficiaries we were honored to support over the years, and we hope to continue our journey with all of them for the prosperity of our country.
